a question about terrorism

has there been any year/years that have had way more major terrorist attacks than others.

what im asking is.

is there a pattern to terrorism either by design or coincidence (i.e say odd years vs even years etc etc)

i am asking because i am too young to remember any news earlier than say 1998 or 1999 (i am 18 but i never used to take note of world events)

the only thing earlier than that whcih i can remember are
the tokyo gas attacks
and the oaklahoma city bombings.

the main reason im asking is just our of sheer curiosity.

may all victims or terrorism rest in peace.
