Limbaugh stands by McNabb race remarks

PHILADELPHIA -- Rush Limbaugh insisted Wednesday he had "no racist intent whatsoever" in saying the media have overrated the Philadelphia Eagles' Donovan McNabb because they want to see a black quarterback succeed.

Limbaugh offered no apology, and McNabb said it was too late for one anyway. "I'm sure he's not the only one that feels that way, but it's somewhat shocking to actually hear that on national TV," the NFL star said. "An apology would do no good because he obviously thought about it before he said it."

I hate his show and I hate that he's on a real sports show. I'm happy that no one stands by him. Ever notice on the cmmericals for ESPN's Sunday show that he sits FAR away from the black commentators?

I know they suck. They play the Skins this weekend and they are destined to lose.

He was brought in to do exactly what he did. Be anti everybody else and share his opinion no matter what. Its actually quite interesting, he brings a completely different angle to a conversation. Should he have said what he said? Shrug. I think McNabb is a great quarterback. Athletic and just in general good. The biggest thing to remember is that Rush has no qualms about sharing his opinion, and its his opinion. I don't understand why people get so upset when someone shares their opinion, good or bad. But he does have 1 point, the media is way to involved with which players are good and which players are not. Which coach is good, which coach is not.

I hate the media for making us watch things like the Yanks, and the Cowboys. On that note Go Twinkies!

Rush Limbaugh, not only racist, but loudmouth super right wing conservative fat piggy. He annoys me about as much as thst O Reilly moron on Fox. Conservative talk show and TV commentators really annoy me period, simply because they think themselves clever men.

Im sure of there were any liberal talk show hosts, they would piss me off as much, yet I havent heard any liberal ones, just fat pig Rush and Mike Savage, who both annoy me to no end.

Unfortunately, Im am forced to endure them all, as my roomate thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread.

I hate Rush and O'Reilly. I saw O'Reilly get BUSTED on C-Span by Al Franken. I thought O'Reilly was gonna have a heart attack. Franken caught him in a lie about his career and and exposed him. It was great.

I've been wondering what Rush has been doing on a sports show offering opinions.
What makes this such a boneheaded statement(outside of the racism) is the amount of money that is involved in pro sports. All teams want/need to win, to keep the money coming in. Which tells me that every team has the best player then can get. The only color the owners are worried about is green.

This is why Rush is just dumb. If you can't play, you don't play. McNabb can play so he starts but that's not good enough for Rush. Gotta knock him cause he's black. I wonder when the other guys (real football players) are gonna knock the crap out of him

Im sorry I missed O reily getting tore up by Al franken (another guy I hate, but see much less of, thankfully). It would have been worth it, O reilly pisses me off. he interrupts people who are trying to make an opposing point of view, and tears em up or feeds them loaded questions and doesnt give them time to explain. Because he doesnt want them to say something intelligent that rips up his Bush sphincter licking dribble.

What gets me about O'Reilly is that he says that he'll have anyone on his show....but he won't have Franken or Joe Conason. They'd definitely kick his monkey ass.

For some reason, when I saw the title of this thread, I saw Scooby Doo calling Bush a racist,

O Reilly wont have anyone on his show who could tear him a new asshole, or who can slam him with some points he cannot counter.

The few who do he cuts them off to the point i wanna kick the # out of my TV because he wont let the other guy talk. He gets instead soft spoken apologetic opponents on there who will clam up when he starts running his mouth.

Its like, when he starts making one of his repiblican boot lick statements, already Im mouthing my opposition, and his opponents often wont, I can think of great ways they can counter him. Id love to be on his show, cuz I would not let that stupid balding twit shut me up. Let him look like the ass. He is typical of most republiklansmen I know, they really are easy to counter, even if they aint bright enough to see thier own folly, they do look like morons to the thinking.

I did notice, however, Fox was suing Franken for the title of his book, a bull# lawsuit really. Was this after Franken ripped into O reilly?

Either way, I am still puzzled that for some odd reason, Fox News takes itself seriously.

The Fox suit was directly after Franken ripped into O'Reilly. O'Reilly go this feeling hurt and pushed Fox to sue Franken...and lost and boosted franken's book to Number #1 on the NYT best seller list.

Racism is always an ugly thing, no matter what form it takes.
It is more harmful when it comes from a figure in the public eye, however because its effects are more far reaching.
I have alot more to say on the subject however I think that should have its own thread.
This is a very serious issue and is a hinderence to all mankind.

Nor should he back down. He said nothing wrong. The political correctness police strike again. If that would have been a white quarterback that he said that about, nothing would have come of this. Double standards at it's best!

I seem to remember just a few short years ago that the NAACP was all over the NFL about not having enough black quarterback's in the league. So your comment about "race has no business in sports" is a moot point.

Oh, now I REPRESENT the NAACP. Personally, I don't think the NAACP should be even involved in the NFL. The should be going out and helping poor minorities and the like.
