Ahhh, but it's all related. The Bible, I think, was written strategically to tell the "alternate and truthful" history of our origins. Personally, I think the Bible is largely bs and a kids' story from a purely religious point of view. It is a weapon for the Illuminati's disposal to control mankind. The one valid thing it has going for it, are the accounts of ET coming to Earth. Cool, perhaps I'm a Raelian at heart!

Numbers 25 7-8 7 When Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, saw this, he left the assembly, took a spear in his hand 8 and followed the Israelite into the tent. He drove the spear through both of them—through the Israelite and into the woman's body. Then the plague against the Israelites was stopped;

1 Samuel 4:18 When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell backward off his chair by the side of the gate. His neck was broken and he died, for he was an old man and heavy. He had led Israel forty years.

1 Samuel 18:27 David and his men went out and killed two hundred Philistines. He brought their foreskins and presented the full number to the king so that he might become the king's son-in-law. Then Saul gave him his daughter Michal in marriage.

Yep, I sure would want to read those passages to a 5 year old and have to explain them

what's the point?

As jehosephat revealed, why would this be a kids story?

I haven't read the full book, but allready some passages, and there are truths in there one has to ponder about, not that it would do harm to a kid, still some passages about murder and so, but wouldn't that be good for the moral? And it speaks about ages ago. This also could be a history lesson. Or is a history course..

then again, what has the church to do with it when one doesn't go to church, and only purchased a bible to reveal to himself what might have been said, to get to know the one who came down in the flesh who was from Him, the one our Father send to us. Therefore Christ, Mohammed or any other Veda or Buddha.. they might not all have been sent by Him, but still in search of Him.

Still it is your opinion Magicpreast. As a kid, stories about Jesus and the Bible always fascinated me, and I didn't talk about that much, because I was like the let's say most feared of my class, you know how it goes in playground and early school days. I was the tallest, came out of a rough family. But still those tales did something with me, and I didn't talk about them with 'friends' only to not be laughed with, for that might have been the only reasons for them, and the rest which hurted me that I held private, but still the sight on my face would've telled them enough about me.

I had no problem with those stories, and as a child made me ponder on what a human being really could be.

Offcourse when what is told is forced into ones mind, and if others did not let yourself think about what it really could mean, then this could be abusive, but it didn't turn out that way for me, and still, when groing older, one can think about that in his own way.

I might claim stories about nuclear wars and dancing vedas might as well be bed time stories for kids............

And WHAT THE HECK, aren't we are His Childs.. known to you or not? His Child you are, if you deny it or not!

From the Brothers Grimm:

" The old woman had only pretended to be so kind; she was in reality a wicked witch, who lay in wait for children, and had only built the little house of bread in order to entice them there. When a child fell into her power, she killed it, cooked and ate it, and that was a feast day with her. "

The Bible?
Kid's story, maybe not.

But a nice collection of "historically semi-accurate fairly tales".
Some very old, from OTHER previous civilizations.
But the stories were useful.
Keeping people in fear of some non-existent superpowerful being.

Some books missing, some editied to make it easier to swallow, when being introduced to other regions.

Pretty flexible book back then.
Lets leave the women out of the stories.
Then Women we live IN, we can rewrite their parts, to be whores. Or idiots..

nice book..

Those are good but I think my favorite is the one judge i forget the name

Okay I wikid it and its Ehud this is what wiki has to say

Ehud Ben Gera (אֵהוּד originating from the Hebrew root א-ה-ד (liking, sympathy, support), Standard Hebrew Ehud, Tiberian Hebrew ʼĒhûḏ), in the Biblical Book of Judges (3:12-4:1) was the Judge who fought against the Moabites, which were ruled by King Eglon. Ehud had made a short double edged sword about a foot and a half long useful for a stabbing thrust. He then hid the sword by strapping it to his right thigh under his clothing and met the king under the pretenses of giving him tribute. Being left-handed, he could conceal the sword on the side where it was not expected.

Ehud then tricked Eglon by saying he had a secret message intended for the king. Eglon sent all of his attendants away and Ehud drew his sword and stabbed the king, who was apparently so fat that even the handle of the blade sank in. Eglon was eviscerated by the blow, which punctured his intestines: "and the dirt came out."

After killing Eglon, Ehud locked the doors to the king's chamber and left, leading to a very humorous scene. Eglon's assistants came back to check on the king but when they found the doors locked they assumed the king was relieving himself. They "waited to the point of embarrassment" until they finally unlocked the door and went in, where they found their king dead. Ehud escaped during this time and made it to the town of Seriah. He then led the tribe of Ephraim to seize the fords of the Jordan, where they killed about 10,000 Moabite soldiers.

But still the bible isnt a book of fact its a book of truth. Maybe its not accurate that Jesus trashed the temple but its true that the merchants shouldnt have been taking advantage of the poor pilgrims. So the truth is dont take the bible literally think of what it teaches and what that can do to make the world a better place

Although it certainly is filled with fairy tales, it's definitely not for children - or for childish adults.
