Israel's nuclear weapons are a threat due to their very existance.

How do u justify allowing one country to possess such weapons and deny it to another because they have different beliefs.

it doesnt matter if they are threatened or not, they shouldnt have them.

but let propaganda make you automatically believe they are pursuing nuclear weapons, i took their word for it before iraq, now that was naive. again what they are doing IS NOT illegal. We have found no proof of them creating weapons of mass destruction. if we all went to war on suspision this world would have ended a long time ago. iran has not broken any part of the NPT. they also went even further and willingly suspended their own nuclear program as a sign of good faith. over a year later we still have nothing but a suspision and now they are tired of waiting.

Obviously you have not listened to a single thing I’ve said, if you were, you would have noticed that I don't care what their beliefs are. All I care about is that Iran has a history of threatening Israel, that's why I don't want them to posses nuclear weapons. I don't want to wait and see if Iran will make good on is promise to wipe Israel off the map.

Oh god, always this tired argument. Who gives a # about whether it's right to let one country have nuclear weapons and deny another one. Cosider this:

You are in a room with a whole bunch of other people, one for each country of the world. You have a gun, several other people have guns too but most of the others just have knives. Over in one corner you have a dangerous lunatic called "Iran" who would just love to get a hold of a gun and put a bullet in your head because he is a psychopath. Now tell me, are you going to point you gun at him and say "over my dead body" or are you going to say "well, gee, I shouldn't point my gun at him or try and stop him getting a gun because it wouldn't be fair"

I hate to rain on your parade, but this is real life and the grand prize is survival. There is no such thing as a fair fight because you fight to win or you loose. Even if Iran have Nuclear weapons, all that means is that they can (possibly) hurt the US a bit before the US wipes their country off the face of the earth (if it so ends up that way). Personally, I would rather see them just develop into some normal semblance of a country and live in peace with the rest of the world. Despite the fact that I have no real fondness for Iran or alot of other mid-east county's I would still rather see them grow up than be annihilated. I'm not going to bet any body parts on it though

Man, after you say you would like to see most of the mideast grow up to be annihilated, I dont think your word carries much weight. Thats a bold statement, my friend. I dont like islamic fundamentalism either, but these are human beings, and they are not all calling for the destruction of the o so peaceful people of Israel. Lets not forget that a majority of the population in Iran doesnt side with the wacko holding the reins. I know a couple of Iranian Americans and they tell me about the situation all the time. I think what you lack is an outside perspective.
Not to roast you or nothin, cause thats not my intention, but I thought I would slow you down a little.

*sighs* Yeah, fair enough. I should point out though that I never said I wanted them to get nuked just that if they did decide to exercise their (alleged) nuclear option that it would come off a lot worse for them than for the US.

I meant what I said, I really do want the world to take a big chill pill. I'd rather hear about who won the latest football match than how many people got blown up in Iraq today. It just doesn't seem like it's going to be that way, that's all

ps. Are you sure you read my post properly? I said "I would still rather see them grow up than be annihilated" not "to be annihilated"

achiving peace because you have the gun and they dont isnt peace, its a threat. a threat which eventually will shift one way or the other. dont ever think that because iran doesnt have nukes that there will ever be peace. as long as there are nukes, there wont be peace.

Do you feel threatened when a Police officer walks by with a gun in his holster? I hear what your saying and I can understand why they would want Nukes (and even sympathize) but the simple fact is that a country like America can't afford to let a country like Iran have nukes. The country I live in doesn't have Nuclear weapons and does not feel threatened in the least by the US because we are not trying to kill it's citizens.

And if you want to get down to it, as horrible as they are, Nuclear weapons almost certainly prevented a direct confrontation between Russia and America during the Cold War. Both countries new that if they ever went directly to war against each other that the world would affectively be destroyed for all. The threat of mutually assured destruction offerred by Nuclear Weapons has prevented what could have easily become a thrid world war

I once heard a saying that if every man and women decided not to fight that there would be no need for weapons. It's true, but for the foreseeable future there will always be people who want to fight so as long as Iran chooses to think of itself as the splinter in America's foot then it will find itself at the end of a gun barrel. Getting a gun of their own will only mean that America will point more of it's (much bigger) guns back at Iran. It's not nice, but that's the way it is
