I put the image into photoshop and played about with the balence and found that by doing that you can make out that it has a single fin a cockpit and a grey/black radome on the front.

If think it looks very much like an old Douglas Skyray of the 50's era!

There were quite a few delta X planes tested at edwards and probably Area 51 and I wonder if this is a area 51 gate gaurdian or static display A/C under restoration!

I still cannot seem to post any images I find but if you just import the original image, to any paint programme, that was posted at the start of the thread and play around with the balance you should be able to make out a bit more detail.

The other A/c nearby are F16's so the A/c is quite small.

looking at that last image it might be a very very very blutted F-16XL or, dare I say it, something akin to the testors F-19?

Waynos

Which came first Testors or Lockheed/Beoing/ Nothrop version? LOL

Attached a new picture link. Straight forward enlargement - no modification to change the contrast etc.

No mods to enlarged picture of White Aircraft

Well! this one remands me of an aircraft that been in a looong time ago called Skyray

it looks like there is black on the top of the virtical stablizer as well as the nose cone and a blacked out canopy.
Also there does appear to be rails on it but i cant tell if its loaded with anything.

On further inspection of the picture the rails seem to be in a identical postion to the skyray that emile mentioned.

still looking into it I found the length of the skyhawk was 45 feet 3 inchs. Anyone know the length of the 16 off hand? Ill look into it anyways unless some posts it first for me.

found it the lenght of the F-16 is 47 ft 7.75 inchs. now to compare the two pictured planes with the white aircraft.

Sorry guys after looking at the first posted picture and the white plane it looks liek the white one is probably only about 25 to 30ft long (educated guess) or so if its a plane which i think it is due to the later pics. to me its looks awefully small and if could be unmaned though it deffently looks like it has a cockpit.

I found these measurements
All in feet and rounded up to the nearest foot.

Length Wing Span Height

F-16 49 32 16
Skyray 45 33 13
Skylancer 54 33 13

And as said the White aircraft looks a lots smaller than any of these.

does anyone besides myself think for just a second that they know there is a satellite passing overhead taking pictures at that moment..and they could just be wheeling out the dummy photo plane for people to drool over?....it's nothing spectacular, and it's probably something we've seen before.

i just wish someone would be sleepin on the job and we get a nice glimps of a disc..

Yes thought of that, just asking if anybody can ID it. Just like the x-35a That was Identified on another thread.

I must admit I to thought it looked liked the fabled F19 design which the F117 Stealth Fighter was surpposed to look like. The vertical tail could be two tails canted inwards and you could say the rear edges of the delta were rounded....but the lack of resolution of the image does not allow a clear identification of the outline of the A/C.

It is nice to see that there are people out there who are intrested in identifying real A/C and not just dreaming of what if's......!

Thanks SV

Like to get Facts not Fables.

If it tuns out to be a known aircraft- Great.

If it turns out to be an unknown - great.

Same if it turns out to be a dummy to confuse.

Being an aircraft engineer for 27 years and a spotter to boot I do like to deal in facts over fiction (where possible that is!!!!!!)

I just wish that google earth or a similar programme was updated each day then you would have a really powerful tool for keeping tabs on what is going on at the various sites of intrest around the world!

Keep an eye on the BAe Warton site as this might turn up a few images of secret stuff if google earth ever updates itself regular enough!

Sv Out....!
