Hello everyone.
I have been lurking about these boards for the past 5 years now, but never really created a real account. I had an account a few years ago that I
created to respond to some threads and start a few myself, but it kind of died out during a period of my life where I didn't have much time to be
active on forums.
I rearly have time to sit hours on a discussion boards now days either, like I did back in the days, but I have witnessed how this place has evolved
and grown the past years and I guess I just felt like being a part of it. Join in on some discussions and maybe start a few myself if I feel I have
something to contribute with.
I have been part of (or have been lurking) numerous discussion boards throughout the years, conspiracy and non-conspiracy ones, and ATS is clearly the
one that holds the most potential knowledge in my oppinion. There are a lot of interesting topics here...Almost too many. And there are incredible
amounts of intelligent and knowledgeble members of this community, contributing to what I believe to be the most interesting website on the internet
(I have surfed conspiracy topics and alike on the internet since 1997 and have never stumbled on to something quite as interesting and great as these
forums).
Well.. enough about ATS. A bit about myself maybe...
I'm a 22 years old guy from Norway. Have been into UFO's and the paranormal since I was a little boy. The interest was kept alive mainly by X Files
back in the days. I stubled onto this board around 2001 I believe, while doing a search for websites or documents containing theories on links between
old civilizations (primarily Ancient Egypt) and UFO's/Extraterrestrials. I believe this was after a particularly interesting program about this on
Discovery Channel (Have anyone seen this? Remember what the name of the program was?).
My main interests are Ancient and Lost civilizations (the myth of Atlantis always fascinated me), Cryptozology, Extraterrestrial Life, Secret
Societies (mostly after reading through threads on ATS) and Conspiracy in religion. I have always had an interest in conspiracy in politics also, but
politics has been such a big part of my life (also a destructive one i'm sorry to say) the last 5 years that I rarely engage in political discussions
in communities like these. I don't think anything has the potential to create more negative atmosphere than heated political discussion. Political
discussion is a good thing, of course, but politics was not my reason to join this forum, and it has little to do with my interest in conspiracy
related topics.
Politically I find myself in the economical left, social libertarian quadrate of the political and economical map, meaning that I am an
non-authoritarian socialist. I have been leaning towards anarchism (philosophical and Politically understood, meaning horizontal and libertarian
organization and governing on equal footing without rulers, not lawlessness and authoritarian chaos like anarchism often is confused with) since I was
17, feeling as much political distance to communism as capitalism. I have never been organized in party politics, but has been active in the
anti-fascist movement since I was a teenager, campaigning against the now as-good-as-dead Norwegian Neo-Nazi scene.
Most my friends are political right wing, or advocates of authoritarian or representative rule Politically (left or right). So I get my share of
political debate on an everyday basis. I usually go very well with people who don't share my political views, and I hate to get hostile when it comes
to politics, even though I realize it's perfectly normal, so I don't think I will regret flagging myself as an anarchist bastard on a forum where I
know there are quite a few right wingers, hehe.
Religiously i'm leaning mostly towards christianity maybe, by reason of my respect for god, meaning that I would never deny her/him or utter real
blasphemy against god. This is simply because I don't know. I have acepted the fact that I might never know. So, i'm not christian, but I respect
christianity and believe [the] faith itself to be a good thing. I guess i'm an agnostic of some sort. This goes for all relegions of course... I
respect them all and don't favour one over another really. I grew up in a christian country though, and know more about christianity than other
relegions. I have always lvoed christian mythology and Paradise Lost is among my favourite reads.
Other than that, I love reading. I'm mostly into fantasy and sci-fi and love RPG's, both computer based and pen and paper. My favorite author is JRR
Tolkien, who I have loved since I was 14 years old, and my favorite book is The Silmarillion by the same author (though edited and published by his
son). I'm also into music. I did vocals in a crappy black metal band when I was 17/18, but mostly listens to music now days, or play some improvised
piano or harmonica. I listen to everything from metal, to rock, to hard trance, to prog, to jazz and hip hop.
Well.. that's about the basics, and probably what you will ever know about who I am, except for what you can extract from my possible participation
on the discussions on ATS.
