Are the winds changing?

According to the BBC and met office weather forcast the winds will be coming in from the east soon enough.

From what I remember from my geography class, when we get easterly winds like these the temperture drops fairly quick and we even get a high chance of snowfall.

Again, im not sure. Are their any experts here that add anything further?
