Six more steam explosions were recorded Saturday on Augustine Volcano, but the island cauldron refused to yield its secrets to scientists who arrived by helicopter from Homer.


Augustine island, which is about 170 miles from Anchorage, has swelled over an inch. Theres been nearly 200 mini quakes reported in the last week. Residents on the island have been smelling the sulfur smell for a few days now.
