Super thread Valorian!
To the first question: Yes, the world can and will attain peace.
There have been times in human history where evil was defeated with violence and we enjoyed peace afterward, proving to many that violence is a viable
solution when confronted with evil. But a time is coming where evil will be shut up and there will be no more reason to fight it--and some will still
give into violence becoming the very evil that they wish to fight against. Defeating the real "terrorist" aside...we must defeat the terrorist that
lives between our ears (the temptation to do and support evil). Peace begins with each individual rejecting reactionary violence as feasible solution
to the evil in this world. But, as we can see in this thread, we have a long way to go because violence works--folk still believe it's a necessary
evil. It'll take some time to undo that sort of thinking...I believe we will get there, though.
Second topic:
Who do you think would be Peace candidates and why?
As I kinda said already, we all have to play a part in leading the world toward peace. We have to actually believe we are capable of it. Even when
strong voices speak out for peace some still reject it, and that too leads to conflict that rejectors will seek to end with violence. We saw this
kind of thing during the civil rights movement. The true path to peace on Earth can't come from one person--it must be a collective effort.
Yo, just my opinions...peace yall.
