MA, I applaud your response. However, as was stated directly after your reponse, yes, with the high level of informative posts, high points, and
writer status, as well as your well thought out posts, you are, by association, a role model. You may not like it, but that is how things work both on
message boards, and in the real world. Hell, I look up to you and I have been here about the same length of time.
As far as mods enforcing rules, they do a good job. YOu have to take a lot of things into account. Number of members, posts, forums, visitors. Also,
the validity of information etc. They do seem to keep very well with everything considering volume. William also does great with the performance.
There is a major difference between MODERATING and BABYSITTING. These guys are MODERATORS. They are to keep things in line. Babysitters are usually
hated, they are paid and they are quite often A$$holes. Moderators are unpaid, and generally easy to get along with. Yet, if problems are pointed out,
they respond correctly.
Most of the problems here (as fars as chit chat stuff in non chit chat forums) would be quickly resolved by NONMODERATORS by pointing out the little
issues to the poster. If they were not corrected, a U2U to a mod would correct it.
I like ATS as is. I do NOT want to see another TBATS style group try what the TBATS did. I remember the chaos from that. It's nice to NOT have that
around here.
So lets all start leading by example, weather we feel we are "role models" or not. Everyone else will catch on.
