Man Dumps Mother's Ashes onto Eagles' Gridiron

An Arizona man, Christopher Noteboom, 44, ran onto the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia Sunday carrying a bag from which was emitted a cloud of dust. At one point, Noteboom dropped to his knees, crossed himself, and lay prostrate until security personnel arrived to escort him from the field. Noteboom said the bag had contained his mother's ashes and that she had always been an avid Eagles fan and that now she would always be part of the field and of the team. Police say they are not sympathetic to his cause.

I tell you what, dude's lucky he wasn't shot being mistaken for a terrorist letting go of some kind of chemical agent into the air.

I have a feeling, as individuals, the cops ARE sympathetic.

According to this story, the team had denied requests to dump ashes on the field. I'm not sure if they are speaking of this case solely or about a number of cases.

Eagles spokeswoman Bonnie Grant said the team has declined requests to spread ashes on the field.
