Isn't the whole belief of Buddhism that if you reach an enlightened state you will not be reincarnated? Siddartha Gautama attained elightment and therefore freed himself from the cycle of rebirths. So...

if this guy is claiming he is the reincarnated Buddha is he just proclaiming he is enlightened? or is he literally saying he is Siddartha Gautama?

Ahh so others are claiming the kid is Buddha reincarnated, not the kid himself.

Still. Why would people say this about the kid? The Buddha (Siddartha Gautama) freed himself from the cycle of reincarnations...that's the point. Heh.

Does Classical Buddhism not have the view that once freed from the Wheel of Samsara the Bodhisattva can willfully choose to incarnate?
