Is there a name for associating smells with colors? Im not talking about smelling a scent and being reminded of a memory. I mean, for example, I smell certain perfumes, and I think yellowish orange. Or other dark scents make me think of the color brown.
Im not sure if this is something that even has a name or other people do this?

synsenthia. hold on, I'll get the spelling and a site about it for you.

edit: I can't spell tonight. but as I understand it, it's a term for people who automatically associate numbers with colors and smells with colors and things like that. it's kind of like if all the senses were thrown together in a blender. or, that's how it was explained to me.

Synaesthesia is the generic term for when a stimulus is applied to one sense that produces sensation in another sense. It could be sight and sound, or sound and touch, or sight and smell as in sparky's example.
