OK, folks - I'm in!
I haven't finished reading every post in this thread, as is generally my rule before posting but, I need to get on board because TOMORROW is my Quit
Date!
My situation is a bit different than most (and all that I've read) because I do not smoke cigarettes - tried a few in my teen years and never will,
again. I think cigarettes are disgusting!
I am a fairly heavy cigar smoker. I never smoke the cheap ones, either. My cigar habit has been costing me about $3,000/year! And, they stink up my
car, my clothes, etc. My wife has never asked me to stop but she complains all the time about how bad I smell when I smoke.
So, I'm going cold turkey. I know I can do it because I had to quit once before for about 3 months. The problem with that "quit attempt" was that
I never wanted to quit - I was forced to quit against my will. I couldn't wait for the day I could start, again!
I love a good cigar! I truly do! But, I want to get back to the days when I would have a fine cigar on special occaisions with my buds. One cigar
a month is fine. Three per day is what I need to stop!
So, I really appreciate this thread and I'll take all the help and encouragement I can get.
But, tonight, I'm going to smoke a very fine, very special fine cigar with an excellent port wine and make it a kind of ceremony.
