How do you think the masses are contorlled?

Some people here know the US goverment uses the 14th admendment(which is techniqually De Facto) to gain more control over the education system, instead of the local goverment getting to make all the decisions, the goverment and the UN program, UNESCO does. True, they have some good works, but reguardless, I've never trusted the school system for my education, not even in pre-school.

But I was wondering how, why, and if it could be made into a PC game like "The Sims" would you control the masses? Why? How? and How do things like TV, Movies, and certian books one must read in school affect one's mind, and if there is a way to minimize the effects?
