I have recently decided to study budest teachings at the local temple here in my town. I am hoping that I can find enlightment to help ease the pressures of everyday life and become a better person because of it. I'm curious if any of the posters here at ats are into budest teachings and have been able to find some sort of balance within themselves as well as their life be it thru mediation or what ever the case would be it. If you have such an experience(s) please share them. I am also interested in how this can influence one's physic ability.

I used Meditation (and still do) when training in Martial Arts (Go-ju-ryu).

It has helped me immensely after coming home in '71. It has also helped me through tough times since. I would recomend it along with prayer (to who or whatever) as a means of relaxation and relieving of stress.

Thomas Crowne...

Your right its not conspiratorial. However if you notice nothing within the paranormal board is what you would exactly call "conspiratorial" either. I posted it there due to the ability that mediation has to bring about paranormal circumstances.

Enlightment, will not ease "pressures of everyday life" , enlightment allows you to break the karmic circle, enlightment is the path to the beggining and the end. I don't mean this in a bad way, but enlightment is not something you just "get"
Meditation will allow you to be at peace with yourself and others.
You have to remember one thing regarding "pressures of everyday life" however, there is only one person that can make you feel anything. That person is you.
I am no expert by any means, but do encourage you to seek what works best for you. Meditation, can take on many forms, from doodling to working out it is simply what works best for you.
I'll leave you with one of my favorite koans;

"Without thinking of good or evil, show me your original face before your mother and father were born".
