Anyone have a clue as to how to view usb files on sun operating system. Upon bringing up the removable media manager window it says 5 items 5 hidden, and all I see is a blank folder.

Can't help you much on the USB part as I don't own any ZIP drive.

All file names beginning with a dot "." are hidden in the file manager. To view those files, click the View menu then check Show Hidden Objects.

Now file manager display all the same files as listed by "ls -al" command in Terminal window, except the first one named "." which correspond to the current folder you're in, so the manager still think it's hidden but it's okay.

See screenshot, click thumbnail to view full size image.

By USB port I meant mp3 player, usb drive stuff of that nature. All ipods come with a usb port. A means of transferring files. Zip Drives aren't that popular.

As for the screenshot you got it right on. I gave up in trying to drag files to the removable media drive, (which is where I think it stored the files found on my usb piece). What I did was zip all the files into a tar file, and then gmailed it to my regular windows computer.
