If you think for one second that our government does not lie to us, i'd like to ask you to take a look at this. And after you have given a look see, i'd like you to ask yourself, "How many other things are they KNOWINGLY lying about?".

democrats.reform.house.gov...

Now, before you start thinking this is all biased opinion, i'd like to inform you that no, i am not a democrat and yes these lies have been proven (and easily corroborated by investing them yourself using means other than what i have provided).

Prepared at the direction of Rep. Henry A. Waxman, Iraq on the Record is a searchable collection of 237 specific misleading statements made by Bush Administration officials about the threat posed by Iraq. It contains statements that were misleading based on what was known to the Administration at the time the statements were made. It does not include statements that appear mistaken only in hindsight. If a statement was an accurate reflection of U.S. intelligence at the time it was made, it was excluded even if it now appears erroneous.

BTW these aren't the first nor only lies your government has committed. I'ts worth thinking about everytime they speak to you.

Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.

Horrible....just horrible.

All republicans ever do is lie, bloody hell.
Politicians' job is to lie I know, but this is ridiculous!

Aren't there laws which should see Bush kicked from the government?

Master Wu, this smells like poo.

You started your thread by saying 237 proven lies by the Bush admin about Iraq, but your link says there is 237 misleading statements, so at that point you lost my interest.

Adios.

Misleading = Deception

Deception (or mystification) is to intentionally distort the truth in order to mislead others. Deception is involved in propaganda and game theory (to deceive the opponents). Deception, rather than falsehood, is the essence of the lie.

Hehehe you want to dismiss the truth because of a misunderstanding of the English language, no wonder they get away with it so easily....

Good post Master WU!!

The opening text of the article contains the following statement: "It contains statements that were misleading based on what was known to the Administration at the time the statements were made. It does not include statements that appear mistaken only in hindsight".

So, this means they KNEW the statements they were making were baseless, inaccurate or misleading based on the actual information available to them.

To deliberately present misleading or inaccurate information as truth is to lie. No other way to interpret it is there?
They lied, people died, plain and simple.

Ok, now if the Link said "Intentially Misleading" maybe, but as it stands its poo lol.

Now heres some other examples of misleading that ive "borrowed" ...

The United States isn't a democracy! The word "democracy" means "A state where the people govern," and I'm part of the people, but I'm certainly not part of the goverment!

Anne said... so my nephew started having hysterics, right there on the airport floor.
Bob said ..... That's not possible!
Anne said ... What?
Bob said ...... That your nephew was having hysterics. The word comes from the Greek word for "uterus", and your nephew doesn't have a uterus.

So as weve all learned today, misleading is a very loose term....

Deliberatly misleading and lying well then im interested.

Cheers.

Truth is you really don't want to read it do you?
A slight difference in wording is enough to justify to yourself not to read it, right? how ...er lame...

The truth hurts I know, but what hurts makes you stronger, and maybe puts us a step closer to change.
Go ahead read it, I promise it won't hurt too bad

But you're right there are no straight lies, no black and white, just half truths, statements out of context, posibilities sharaded as hard fact, slavery sold as freedom, fear used to control, doubtfull evidence spun to fit official explanations, hiden truths, embelished biased stories, exagerations....

Not much difference is there?

All of these look like pure opinion. Its a democrat site with a democrat spin on EVERYTHING.

I dont see how you could think this was the least bit objective. For people who claim to be smart and not easily fooled, you guys sure are gulible.

Thank You Anok, I appreciate your kind words.

I think the symptoms of prejudgement and assumtions are very clear to everyone who see's them. What is not clear to everyone however (and especially to those who prejudge and assume) is how petty it looks to those who do not pre-judge and assume.

I really don't mind petty responses to what i say. The world is full of petty people and i have learned since childhood to tolerate sharing space with them. The day will come however when that sort of pettyness eather grows out of that shell or dies a wilted and impotent death.

May i suggest o naysayer that you actually open the book before judging it by its cover? Have you no mind of your own to think with? Must everyone always do the thinking for you? One of these days you may have to grow up and do the thinking for yourself...

And BTW - The United States IS NOT a democracy, its a democratic republic. (The 'ic' at the end of democratic implies that its a working progress, the republic part is the actual state at which the government considers itself to be at).

And if you cannot see how 'misleading' defines 'lies' and 'untruths' then the problem is not on my end...
