Beware of the Patriot Act! Taking pictures of Trains is illegal!

I see military shipments by rail come by my house every once in a while. They ship everything from M1A1S to Humvees and Deuce In A Half Trucks (two and a half ton trucks) on the backs of flatcars. What shocks me about these shipments are that these military shipments do not have the DoD caboose on the end of the train. Wouldn't you want a caboose on the end of that train??? And, yes I do remember the Minutemen missle cars that the DoD had during the Cold War.

I am mistaken, those were the Peacekeeper missiles that used the trains to move and to be launched. It's been years since I've seen one go through that I have forgotten what type of missiles they carried.

The general population is the US military??? What makes you think if they were given an order to drop bombs on US cities against US civilians that they would comply? There would have to be some heavy brainwashing going on there.

Actually those missile cars were for the defense of the United States, not to ensure our destruction by our own weapons. Two missile cars per train with on launch control car. At their peak, the military had fifty trains located at different air bases across the country. Program was started under Reagan at the height of the Cold War. The program ended in 1991 when Cold War hostilities died down.

There will always be those in the military that will do the bidding of anyone with higher rank... thankfully those are few and far between. I believe the majority of the military, in a government vs. population situation, will support the population. They'll realize that the gov't is doing something extremely stupid. The honest ones will still be upholding their oaths of enlistment they took where it said, "...and I will defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

Hopefuly, but the fact the National Guard forgot that oath after katrina in NO concerns me...

If great Generals like Patton or MacArthur were to some how find out what has happened to the country they once fight for. I bet that they would roll over in their graves if they heard.
