Thirteen motel operators in Mesa Arizona have been indicted on charges they rented rooms to federal agents posing as immigrant smugglers. The
defendants allegedly told the agents to register under false names, rent multiple rooms and park their vehicles in inconspicuous places. Eight of the
motel owners charged were U.S. citizens, while five were British citizens, according to US authorities. All of the thirteen individuals were charged
with conspiring to harbor illegal aliens.

Thirteen motel owners and former owners were charged with conspiring to harbor illegal immigrants and could face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Five properties will be seized by the government, while the Roadrunner Motel, which has since been sold to new owners not involved with smuggling, will be left alone.
The suspects are accused of renting rooms to undercover officers posing as smugglers. Investigators said some motel operators charged the undercover agents higher room rates than ordinary customers and coached them on ways to conceal their smuggling activities.
Roshankumar Bharatbhai Bhakta, a suspect from the Westernaire Motel, told an undercover agent that over time he would "take out all the white people" if the agent brought more immigrants to the business, court records show.

It is about time that US authorities started to crack down on those helping illegal immigrants enter this country, this action is long overdue.
I wonder if Bhakta is from a Muslim country originally. If he was it sure would make it convenient to smuggle terrorists into this country.
Further more I wonder if the British Citizens aided other British citizens in entering the US.

I will shout praises when i see something serious being done...
the only thing these guys did that made them stand out, is they forgot to make their kickback payment to the local officials IMO... and then became the fallguy
When they cart off the employers that have made millions in construction and agriculture, then i will be impressed... (oh, but they are just offering menial jobs to people who are willing to do them for so cheap by paying under the table.
news flash... i know a lot of english speaking people that would grab those jobs if they got paid cheap under the table also...
it is the employers they should go after, not the various few industries involved that actually MAKE money for this country (from immigrants) instead of lose it. It is these lawbreaking employers that save millions a year, by violating tax laws, and cheat the rest of us that obey the law...
I have no issue with immigrant workers, just the illegal ones, that compete on an uneven playing field. make them register, and take the same deductions on their pay, and then see who takes what job...

I agree with you there. The best way to stop illegal immigration is to make secure social security cards with a picture and magnetic stripe and force every employer to swipe that card to check citizenship/visa status. Penalties for hiring illegals need to be made draconian like $100,000 for the first offense then afterwards gov't seizure of your business.
