I thought that the management had done away with the blinking, epileptic seisure inducing ads at the top of the page for subscribing members. For several months, it was quite pleasant, ATS related banners (I always liked the "most recent threads" banner personally). But now, within the past couple of days, I've been noticing that the obnoxious blinking ads are taking over again. No, I don't want a new mortgage (I don't even own). No, I don't want to swat the fly for an iPod. No, I don't want spam mail in exchange for a vacation. No, I don't want to be subjected to an epileptic fit (and I'm not even epileptic) everytime I hit reload.

Why are the obnoxious ads back? I thought that it was agreed a while back that one of the priveledges of membership was freedom from annoying banner ads.

There's significant reduction in ads for members as opposed to guests including zero (to little) pop ups as I understand it, but you're going to get banner ads. And there's next to no control over content. It has to appear before it can be opted for block, if it's even reasonably objectionable.

FWIW, I was really enjoying it when it was just the 5-6 ATS banners being recycled. Other than that, virtually all of the "You have just (won/been selected for) ...." I could live with out. I'm not even epilectic, but those give me a headache worse than most of the hangovers I've ever had...

I've got the URL for the image saved aside if someone wants it to block it; I'd post it here but it doesn't seem appropriate.

HAha, between my software firewall, hardware firewall, and add-ons to FireFox... I don't see any of that stuff. It's all blocked, removed, blank, and gone. I'm not missing anything. But it wasn't easy to do. I can't stand flickering ads.
