IRAN has protested at what it calls "unlawful" overflights of its territory by two US drones in recent months in letters circulated at the United Nations this week.

Iran's UN delegate Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi, in a letter sent to UN chief Kofi Annan and a copy of which was obstained by AFP, referred to two protest letters over the overflights sent by the Iranian foreign ministry to the US Interests Sections in the Swiss embassy in Tehran.

The letters warned that Washington "will be responsible for the consequences of any recurrence of its unlawful acts."

The first letter dated August 9 said a US Shadow-200 (RQ-7) unmanned aerial vehicle crashed 60km inside Iranian territory in Ilam province on July 4.

The second said a US Hermes drone crashed 200km inside Iran in the Khoram Abad area on August 25.

We wouldn't have to fly drones over Iran if it would comply 100% not 70% with the IAEA investigations.

who says they are not complying?
the same country that told you Saddam had WMDs?
lol.
the U.N. is in New York.
They shoulda ran a plane into the U.N. so they could rebuild it and call it the AFE(American Federal Empire).

The IAEA in Switzerland, which is run by a muslim. And the UN which is a little anti-American, and run by an African.

Out of the 6 Billion people on this planet, I could count on both of my hands the number who honestly think/believe that the UN is pro-American.

Nothing to hide, full co-operation?

The Iranian parliament has approved the outline of a bill that would bar UN inspectors from its nuclear sites if the UN refers Iran to the Security Council for sanctions.

In a vote, 183 of 197 Iranian MPs backed the proposals, four days before the International Atomic Energy Agency is due to decide whether to refer Iran to the Security Council over its secretive nuclear program.

The atomic agency passed a resolution in September and called on Iran to suspend all uranium enrichment-related activities before the IAEA meets on Thursday.

The legislation must now be approved by Iran's ruling Guardian Council. Analysts expected this to happen today.

Iran will come under growing pressure this week to accept a Russian-brokered compromise to end the stand-off over its nuclear ambitions after the disclosure that it obtained the know-how to make the core of a nuclear warhead 18 years ago.

Under a proposal backed by the US and Britain, Iran would be allowed to continue to refine uranium at its own nuclear facility, provided it was subsequently enriched in Russia. The material would then be sent back to Iran to fuel a Russian-built nuclear reactor there.
