Maybe WITD has been telling his FBI buddies how good the site is, and they are all trying to get on the board at once.

YaY! Back in!

It's amazing how much you miss something you enjoy when you ain't got it!

I'd wondered at first if it was a denial of service attack or something, what with the peak last night too. Wonder what's got everyone so interested all of a sudden.

Yup... another cycle of overwhelming traffic bringing down the database server... needed to reboot the machine.

In my last blog, I made a suggestion that HAARP activity was tied to ATS activity being that our more "active" posting takes place on days HAARP is ramping up. After hearing about the troubles with traffic, I checked it out and guess what?

Same as Seek,
I've encouraged about 20 our newest members to join...
Only 8 of them are actually involved in the board

All the same, you need more kick to your machines..

This being down/slow business aint fun..

Hopefully this can be fixed somehow, maybe a queue system for starters would be good?

It does take a little longer time to load a page than usual.

I applied a couple of new tweaks to the server at about 4PM today... it seems to have helped.

Short-term fix though.

More coming soon.

I wonder if ATS could get a non profit grant for all the great things it's doing. That would awesome, although I wonder how the money would be distributed.

I have envisaged the path as becoming more of a commercial one aligned with various digital branding experiments.

Would you authorize a grant to an organization providing a sounding board for paranoiacs, conspiracists and teenage hackers? And why?

Well you gotta be clever about it. There are grants out there for non profits that promote awareness. ATS is obviously doing that. If I had the money, man, I would authorize a grant, damn shooting straight! I guess this is another one of those frequent wayward ideas that parachute out of my ear every now and then. ATS could use the money to get more bandwidth, multiple servers, etc. ... the works.

Do you have any idea the source of all the problems?

Or was it just a flood of people that overloaded the system??

Because I have posted on here when there were alot more people then yesterday and it didn't have an effect this enourmous.

Thats good(in a way) that there are too many members for 1 server it means that we are getting popular.
