I agree the administration never stated until now that Saddam was not involved, despite the inclination of many in this country to believe otherwise. I also remember the paintings found in Iraq of the twin towers in various locations.

Calling the idea that Saddam had anything to do with 9/11 a myth was not really the situation. That we can say now he had nothing to do with it has more to do with the time spent with respect to investigation (this is September and the war officially ended in May). That it took 4 months to verify this information beyond any shadow of doubt
is not unrealistic.

To me, any dramatic event shows exactly the opposite

I am curious MA how do you then apply this to the 210,000 found dead and in mass graves all over Iraq?

Despite the musings, the complete lack of investigative reporting with exception of the announcements when they are found
and of course the fact that the UN was irrevocably negligent, this is still a matter which to date has only on the surface been addressed.

Any thoughts?

Toltec

To clarify further what I meant in response to beergoggles, any further 'dramatic event' (ie a terrorist attack on US soil, of such massive proportions and requiring such security failures and so many factors coming together, including the hijacking of four separate planes to bring to execution, as did 9/11) will clearly be the death of this administration on many many grounds, so it will not happen. The thus far hapless citizenry would not tolerate it a second time, for an instant, at all.

Not referring to the treatment of people by despots and tyrants overseas in this instance.
