I don't believe in god. Like golf, I'm saving it as an option for when I'm really old.

God put us his little spirits here so he may experience him/herself. He put us here to create.

God is not going to interfere with what we are doing. Doing that would interfere with the freedom he has given us(part of him). It would eliminate his ability to experience.

God is not perfect. We were created within his image. He has given us all the power to stop this mess that we created. However, until people start listening to the Holy Spirit that exists within us and uniting to quash this mess it will continue.

I think it did start by its self most people cant face the fact that there is no god. If there were a god our planet would be full of peace.

Drunk how is it a fact??? Everything must have it's opposite to exist.

I believe with all my heart and soul that there is a God.
I have "seen" him, I have felt him, I have heard him, and I have walked with him.

I don't mean to sound foolish or anything but: WOW!! What did God look like when you saw him/her? What did he sound like when you heard him? Also, where did you walk with him at location wise? Was he walking with legs like you and that kind of thing?
I am serious about these questions also, don't take this as me being rude please.....

When I said "seen" I put it in quotation marks thinking it wouldn't be taken literally. I have never seen him face to face, but I have "SEEN" the wonders that he created. Next time you are outside, stop and look around. Not just with your eyes but with your soul. Look at the leaves on the trees and the petals on the flowers. Look at all the little wonders that are out there that you normally oversee. Notice all the differences between each bird/leaf/flower/bug. Now...You have seen him too. As far as the other senses....They are inside of me. I walk with him with every step I take. He is as close to me as my breath.

Not so. The reason God isn't interfering very much has only one reason. When Man chose the tree of Wisdom, we also chose to judge ourselves, for wisdom is all about judgement. We got six days to gain wisdom and learn to master it through rightious judgement, but on the seventh day, we should reflect on God's grace and live out what we have learned to it's full under God's supervision. And one day equals 1000 years.

This is the reason why God isn't physically present on Earth for the time being. We were given the choice to choose our destinies. If we had chosen the Tree of Life, we would learn how to create, and we would have been like the angels of Heaven, living eternally without desease and trouble, without having to suffer to gain wisdom so to speek. This tree is now limited to the very few, since we didn't take God's advice, even broke his commandment concerning the Tree of Wisdom, only those who are really wise in the end are allowed to enter God's City and eat of the tree.

Blessings,
Mikromarius

But that still doesn't mean that there can't be a God. God would know that constant peace would be like a stalemate. We would go nowhere. Out of conflict comes growth.

i was raised catholic, and i wear a cross. but i do not at all believe in the church. many things led me to just not believe in it. i took an art history class and it taught you about how religions developed from others and i realized and ill take a quote from somebody on this site " god created man, man created religion." i believe this.
i do have faith. i do believe there is something if not for any other reason that comfort in death. but i do have faith.
where did i get it from? i dont tell many people. but i got it from spiders. sounds stupid and probably is. but thats what led me to believe.

Ahhh....Ok, I know where ya coming from now....I figured that was probably what you meant but I figured I would check just in case, cause that would certainly be interesting to hear such a discription.

I also agree with you totally on viewing the world outside and within to see, feal, hear, etc...God. I too can see this, and have for some time now, even though I do not share your Christian version of God. While I am comfortable with individual perceptions of God is many are not, this is what I find most disturbing.

Since this thread isn't about "Proof" toward any religion and just asking about belief in God I guess I would have to say YES & NO. Being that some who say "Yes" that they believe, yet what they believe differs in various degree to what I believe I must include both. Also Judeo-Christian type Religions are very specific about their belief that they are "Right" and every other Belief is wrong. That being so whether or not someone believes in God or not is unimportant to those that see the question as "Do you believe in MY God?" Two totally different questions indeed!

What I believe, using limited language: No Deities or worshiping of certain persons or Dieties.
What is, always was, and will always be, all that can ever be. To place any label or name or qualities or definitions upon the infinite is of no purpose and will only lead toward misunderstanding, which is why I normally try not even use "God" except for certain cases.

Please. If you reply to a specific reply within a topic, please use quotes or at least have a referance to which post/user you're replying to, so we don't get all the confusion and having people getting frustrated over nothing. Thankyou!

Yes I believe in God, because:

I was a strong atheist, almost anti-christian, but I was having a tough time in life. I decided to try God, prayed, and haven't stopped since because I am listened to, I know from countless experiences........I can't NOT believe in God, because I've already had proof.

I'm not a full blown christian, but I knw God, and I think the Bible gives a general good message (even though so many people are quick to blame all of Earths problems on it
), so I'd say Christian, in a very basic sense, I believe in God, Christ and everything else is common sense.

I admit that there is no denying what Religion has done to people, for example, giving 'strength' to those in difficult times. But I believe that the Bible was a way to explain how the world worked back in a day where science had no real meaning. Some Athiests may say it is a form of social conditioning, which probably isn't too far from the truth.

As an ancient how would you react to Thunder and Lightning? A sign from the Gods? or how would you react to a rainbow as an ancient? Perhaps you may see it as a blessing?

I may of said that the world would be a better place without religion, and I still stand by that. But I know for a fact that religion will not be lost anytime soon seeing how over half the worlds population are members of the two major religions.

I've got one question though, is there anyone here who is not of the Christian faith? I've yet to see any Muslims on this board.

Humph......

This is a good topic. I started out Baptist (Christian). I don't like getting things shoved down my throat though, and I hate being told I am WRONG because my beliefs are not EXACTLY the same as everyone elses. So, I dropped from that into agnostisism. About 13 or so I guess. Though about 2 years ago (23) I remained there.

I am now very spiritual. No religion per se, but I have found my spiritual self and my path. Right now, I am allowing my path to call to me. I am definitely pagan to say the least. I am looking at Shamanism, and Wiccan. One of those two is where I will be resting my soul.

As I have read here already, do not SEEK to find your religion. Allow your religion to find you. Look into yourself. Become one with your higher self and it will guide. Don't waste your time trying to find what is right for you, or you will find nothing right for you. And being agnostic is like being "all dressed up with nowhere to go". I believe that religion is not important, but spiritual belief is important for personal growth.

I totally agree. I didn't find God by reading the Bible and being taught Christianity, it was never like that, God just entered my life one day and never left, at my request.

I do not believe in god. I'll be exiting the thread now, since I do not feel the need to elaborate. Peace.

Sorry I must of missed yours, and its the third one in this thread

*slaps own hand*

Great

Since I joined ATS I had never seen any real Religious Diversity, btw thats excluding the Pagan religions. So I think its good to see some now. In the past I there have been some anti-islamic BS threads on this board which I personnally got quite mad about because it showed the completle lack of intelligence and knowledge in a few members.

There is actually quite a bit of different religious views here at ATS. You just have to pay close attention and read a whole lot of peoples posts. There have been many angry threads of Religious Intolerance fighting about who is right and wrong so many people here no longer choose to speak up since they are only attacked for doing so. I can assure you their are Muslim, Buddhist, Pagan, even at least one who I know of that follows the Jedi philosophy. Just takes time and lots of reading....
