Regardless of whether that picture is real or not, or if the Lutz's story is real or not, that's one place you won't catch me spending the night in. Trips me out.
I'd like to see TAPS do an episode there over night.

This thread might be dead, but I decided to add what I've heard anyways.

From what I see now, the house is abandoned (as much of that street is) and I've seen pictures of the inside. It looks normal, no anomolies in the photoes.

Also, there has been several other people look at that photograph, and they also say its impoossible to be faked. (possible but highly unlikely)

I could be mistaken about the house being abandoned, but I am pretty positive that it is. I've seen pictures of it at an urban exploration web site. (and from what I see its not in the best shape anymore.)

Either way, what happend there was aweful. I feel sorry for all the families affected.

I can assure you the house is not abandoned or the rest of the street for that matter ,but I can say the new owners want no interest i.e. investigations into what happened .....KUHL

Well... after reviewing this entire 100 replie thread.. it seems something is just not right. Although the pic was taken before the technology of putting on a computer was possible... doesnt mean that someone couldn't still alter it to seem authentic. B/c anything is possible these days.

It reminds me of one of those pics that if you stare long enough.. you begin to see images. I still see the figure of a man above the kids head. And also different things on the door. It goes to show that when derek or whoever else changed the pic to point things out... how easily the pic could be changed. You could have laid an old pic on top of a new and they could have rubbed together.. and that would explain the figures.. Its confusing but i guess to really convince me of a slim chance of being real.. i would have to see documents stating who was all in the house when pics where being taken... where everyone was located... the statements of the person that took it.. ect.. a lot . Its such a easy scheme. photography is one of the most simplest conspiracty theory's. This pic reminded me of when someone issued demon figures in the clouds above the 9/11 bombings.

well after all of it, It's a Warren photo that got scanned to the PC.
Supposidly, they set up an infrared cam and let it run all night.

And here we have our one picture out of the thousands (so they say) were taken that night.

How it actually got scanned and the details behind it, I have no idea...finding Information on this is like trying to dig into a mountain with your bare hands. Everyone has shut up.

Ask them about it and it all gets closed, cause of a book deal or something.
And if they find it here, they will make ATS remove it as well.

As far as it all being bulldozed...nope.

They changed the number on the house and the 2 "Eye" windows, but it's all still there.

I think it's "Wilsons" living there now, though I'd have to look it up.

and I'd be pissed if people kept calling me about something that happened ages ago too. actually, I'd be freaked out.
lol

lol for sure. But I swear this guy was calling it the "amittyville" house. Not a house, but THE house. I'll try to post the site I was on later.

Glad to hear its still in use. What happend there sucked. The movie I heard upset alot of the local residents. (They knew there was no such thing as a gateway to h*ll and such under the stairs.)

I understand them. But wasnt there more then just one set of families killed there?

Take care guys.

Is it just me or do the shadows seem odd, too? On the door, the shadows seem to have a curve but I don't what is creating that curve. Maybe I looked too long!

Basically, this is what happened.

The entire DeFeo family is killed by Ronald DeFeo. (these are the only murders to take place in the house) The house is sold.

George and Kathy Lutz buy and move into the house.
They report some wierd stuff...among them :
Levitating demonic pigs
Ghostly voices that told them and a local priest to "get out!"
A “pit into hell” located in the basement
Oozing slime and blood from the walls
Uncontrollable urges to repeat the murders that had happened in the house previously
Infestations of flies
Waking up every night at the exact same time that the DeFeo murders took place.

(Now if you read into their whole account, there are alot of things out of place and such, but I'm just giving the whole basic story)

Everyone and their mother sues each other trying to write books.
As soon as the Lutz's go public, Kaplan and The Warrens,
Webber (Ronalds Defence attourny), The Lutzes all are in the publishing war.

Because of the publicity, the town feels the burden as tourists, researchers and psycics try to find the house and get access to it. (The new owners actually changed the top 2 "eye windows" as well as changed the number of the house from 112 Ocean Avenue, so it would be harder to find.

The unfortunate new owners of the Lutz house were so stressed by the publicity targeted at their new home that they actually took out a lawsuit against the Lutzes and the publishers. The case was settled out of court.

The lutzes moved to the west coast and got divorced.

That's about all there is.
It's real hard to study the case itself because there was so much money grubbing and back stabbing and outright lying going on.

Cool for that info Derek. I saw the movie when I was like ten. (Dont remember much about it.) And heard alot from other people.

I think I'm going to look further into the story. I've never liked the look of the house myself. (Not because of what happend there, but the architecture itself.)

Anyways,

Take care ppl.

I just remembered something from when this first happened, when I was a kid. I remember seeing in the newspaper that a little room was found somewhere in the basement, if I remember right, that was painted red, witch supposedly signified "witchcraft". Anybody remember that?

There's no red room in the real house.
(it's actually a small access pipe room if the pipes needed repair and it's not red)

ok, here we have some more info and I don't know why this never occured to me.
If anyone feels like doing some research, this will be it.

This picture was taken by a camera owned by the warrens in the amity house while it was owned by the Lutes. That much we know.

A fact that seems to have fallen through the cracks is that the lutzes has 3 children. When Kathy married George (Lee) She had 3 children from a previous marriage.

What do these kids look like?
Do they fit our mystery Ghost?

That would completely close this case of this photo.

I'll see what I can find out on my own, but if anyone feels like digging up facts...feel free.

Already found this :
In the movies they are listed as Billy, Micheal and Chelsea.

and it actually is 2 boys and 1 girl

In an interview with george we get :
Danny Lutz - Oldest boy.
Missy Lutz - Girl
(Who said she talked to a ghost named Jody (Which we assume is Jodie DeFeo acording to the Lutz story)

apology for the use of too many buts lol
The mother was Mrs riley and sorry she never worked at the town hall but the sister of the builder whjo built the room did!!!

My links are at work, but the room was originally red and created as a plant house by older owners, but from what I recall, it was not when Kaplan saw it during the time the Lutzes lived there.

I'll have to look it up on monday, but from what I can remember, it was created as a plant house, which seems weird anyways, cause it's under some stairs.... (Unless your using a grow light and growng pot I guess)...lol

Everyone who has seen it has said it's a tiny room with some pipe access.

There was one party that said they had evidence and picture of the "Original red room" But I honestly don't have that info here.

I'll see if I can get some more info on it.

oh and feel free to cover old ground, new ground or what not, I take no offence whatsoever, I love to be proven wrong as much as right. I just found it interesting that we can't find too much info on this picture (Yes, I've sent it to a few companies)...I've gone through thousands of pages of info, but the fact of the matter is...90% of it is lies to make money.

Makes it kind of rough to investigate.

maybe the room wasnt painted red, but had a red light for developing photos!
does anyone know how old the lutes kids were when the picture was taken, or even a secure date on then the picture was taken. if i were to age the kid in the photo i would say between 6 and 11. thats quite a large gap, so if the date of the photo is around the same as the age the kids were at the time, and obviously a mug shot to compare it to, that would explain it out right.

well, I'm going to have a couple beers and dig into this again cause it's just so damn fun.
I ran across the page I have at work...history of the house :

This sight is run by Ric Osuna out of Nevada acording to a DNS lookup, so it's probably not biased either way, though I haven't looked at the page too much, just the house history.

Compelled to report the truth about the DeFeo murders and ensuing coverup that included turning the DeFeo home into a house of horror, Osuna acquired crime-scene photographs, trial transcripts, police reports, and other official documentation previously unavailable to the public over a period of three years. Despite receiving death threats and warnings, Osuna finished his book, The Night the DeFeos Died.

The history of 112 Ocean Avenue

Here's a sum up.
The land before the house was built was farmland owned by the Irelands. (one of Amityville's most prominent and influential families)

On January 14, 1924, Annie Ireland sold the property to John and Catherine Moynahan. The following year, Amityville builder Jesse Perdy constructed the large Dutch Colonial that still stands there today. While their new home was being built, the Moynahans relocated to the old house down the street. When the house was finished, the family of six moved back in and once again enjoyed life by the Amityville Creek.

When John and Catherine Moynahan died, their daughter, Eileen Fitzgerald, moved in with her own family. She lived there until October 17, 1960, when John and Mary Riley bought the house. Because of marital problems, the Rileys divorced and sold the house to the DeFeos on June 28, 1965.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We know the DeFeo and Lutzes story.....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, On March 18, 1977, Jim and Barbara Cromarty purchased the home from the bank.

On August 17, 1987, Peter and Jeanne O'Neil purchased the house from the Cromartys.

On June 10, 1997, Brian Wilson purchased the house for approximately $310,000.
Since 1997, Wilson has renovated the property. Among the many improvements, he has strengthened the foundation of the sinking boathouse and added a sunroom to the back of the house.

Neither the Cromarty's, The O'Neils or Brian Wilson have reported any strange happenings in the house.
