.......
The United States dropped more than 20 spots, to 44th place, mainly because of the imprisonment of New York Times reporter Judith Miller and judicial action that was "undermining the privacy of journalistic sources," the statement said.
.......
The top 10 countries on the list are European, led by Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Norway and the Netherlands, where "robust press freedom is firmly established."

A growing number of African and Latin American countries earned higher rankings, including Benin, which ranked 25th, and El Salvador, 28th.

Continued....

Left out of the report is that legal percedant has been established concerning truth in the news media.

There are no laws, rules, regulations, or code that compelling News media to tell the truth.

They can lie to you, and its perfectly legal.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

This is born out by the high numbers of Americans that still believe WMD were found in Iraq.....

Iceland keeps looking better and better. Wish I could get an ID to travel.
Since it's so easy to get in this country, why is it so hard to leave?

Who cares about New York times or anything printed on paper. The real new sources are here on the internet, like ATS, Slashdot and GoogleNews.
