Coleman wants U.S. to resist U.N. control of Internet
FREDERIC J. FROMMER
Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Sen. Norm Coleman, who has led investigations into corruption in the United Nation's oil-for-food program, is now setting his sights on preventing the U.N. from taking control of the Internet.

Mod Edit: Corrected Title, cropped article and placed in a quote box. Please do not post entire articles and try to give some of your thoughts on the matter. For example, why is it better that control of the internet remain with one country?

this is very serious people. If the United Nations take control of the internet this can affect the freedom of speech and the internet can be nothing more than a censored information tool , it could possibly be like china , and cuba if this happens.

God forbid, biblical reference implied for those that need it, that some entity other than the US gov't control anything as important as the Internet.

Let's look at the UN, annual revenue of $1.3 billion. Just to make this puppy work. That's a lot of money, for an individual not named Gates.

Let's look at the US expenditures for, oh, let's say, DEFENCE:

Whoa, $417, 000,000,000/year? In 2003? I'm sure it's way above that now. I hope those nefarious bastards at the UN aren't planning anything disasterous, like disagreeing with the US administration.
