Is Coffee a Legitimate Food Substitute?

By ATS law, I can only speak in generalities. In self-experimentation, coffee curbs my short-term appetite, but might create long-term food binging. I do know that my mental aspect is at a minimum stimulated.

Can we make coffee a food substitute, where the zero calorie law is retained or a low calorie composition is maintained?

Please help me medical researchers, physicians, and all the geniuses of science.
