I did a google search on abovetopsecret, on the normal google, and several other search engines. Mabey I missed it and I appologies for this thread if I did. My question is, How much of the Iraqi oil does the USA own, and what US companies own that amount.

According to George W. Bush, the people of Iraq own there oil.

The reality is it's all the USA's. Thats how colonialism works. You invade and conquire the weaker state and all their resources belong to you. The game is also called "Empire".

Cheney's Carpetbaggers: Looking for the Loot at the End of the Tunnel
Cheney and Co.'s public line was that the war would pay for itself and that reconstruction would be self-financing. Privately, they were cooking up fanciful schemes to loot Iraq's oil resources as soon as the war was over, as a by-product of their imperial dreams of dominating and remaking the the Gulf region and the Middle East.

Someone should have rebuked this garbage by now.

The fact is none of it is the USA's or any USA corporation.

It's not who governs the business but who gets the money, if it were the former than GE's huge assets abroad would be owned by those countries and not be considered a USA Soft Power.

The Iraqis are getting the money from their oil production, most of which is going to Iraq and to Europe.

Before Saddam was toppled, legally, France owned 27% of Iraqi Oil by an agreement with Saddam, and was given a 60 billion dollar contract to Total-Fina-Elf.

So in a sense...the US has liberated Iraq and returned the Oil to them.

and by them you should say halliburton

because what company is getting the most no bid contracts?

it doesn't matter where the oil goes, it matters where the money goes.

and before you point at france and wag your finger at them for associating with saddam for oil, consider saudi arabia. it's one of the USA's closest allies, but has a regime in power that's more brutal and repressive than saddam ever was.
