Didn't watch the video, tried to download but it failed me twice.

For anyone that has seen it:

* Is there any indication of the age of the video?
* How many in the crowd doing the stoning?
* Is the victim up against a wall, or where?
* Is there sound?
* How many rocks appear to be thrown?
* Is it certain at the end of the video that the victim is dead - some medical person, or legal person, making the pronouncement?

I am interested for reasons that are not at all ghoulish, it helps establish what that website is trying to do.

I downloaded newest freeversion of realplayer and it worked with that.

1st there is a victim getting lashes. I tried to count them but the video is really kind of bad quality. Think it was 30 or 40 lashes. Then there are 2 women burried to their hips in the ground, hands tied behind their back and wrapped in whilte cloth that are stoned. After that 2 more women. The movie is 15 minutes long and is completely sickening. I am not a language wiz but I think they could be speaking Kurdish. Well, more like yelling then. One can see on the clothes the men are wearing that it is not down in Saudi Arabia because it looks cold, the men wear jackets and some even hats.
Could be Afganistan but the clothes dont look like it. I would think more northern Iran or Iraq. Or who knows - turkey?

I didn't get a chance to see the video before the link was removed, but I'm just wondering something-

WHAT IF the women in the video had killed a few US & UN troops in one of these 'ambushes' that happen practically every day in Iraq? Would stoning then be justified?

Because it was in breach of forum rules and common decency. If you want to see the horrors of mankind, then look elsewhere.

You are sickos.

of course not. that's silly to suggest. if the death penalty is warranted, such a cruel and inefficient method would surely not be used. besides, I'm sure punishments of that sort are forbidden, even for war criminals.

Forgot to add!
I wish those men recieves the same punishment!

Uhmm...no, they don't...

You must understand...in this culture, women are more like property and are held to different behavioral standards than the men...

I'm not saying it's right (I don't believe it to be), but I thought the added background might help clarify.... Barbaric? Yes, on that I'd have to agree...

To my knowledge, the film occurs probably in Kurdish area of Iran or Irak. The people look like kurds a bit, and there clothes too as well as the surroundings. Could be Afganistan too. Not sure.

In Afganistan they got another cruel method. It is called Wall tipping. Guess you can imagine.

Burning people is quite popular too.

Yeah, great. Why don't you find some interests that are less disturbing?

I can't believe this thread hasn't been removed.

Why should it be removed?
I doubt that any of us threadwriters here feel good about these extreme violations against human rights.

I bet most people dont even watch the movies or the pictures because it is sickening.
And that is just why this thread shall not be removed.

Well, the original post was a link to a movie of a stoning. This is in clear breach of the forum rules as they have been explained to me. The original poster had the decency to remove the link.

I'm pro human rights, etc, blah blah blah, but I'm anti "posting disturbing links on this website", as are the forum rules.

Funny how people can rant against GWB all day long but turn their head to a little Arab daily occurence.

My experience is that Arab men are the most untrustworthy regarding relationships that one could ever meet. Not saying that all of them are but many of them. I don't know how their women put up with them, but when you see this you realize they have no choice do they?
