I's only the biggest supervolcano in the world and if it does go off the crops of the world will not be able to grow do to the blackened sky.

Rather, the crops of that latitudinal band will not be able to grow, and those of other latitudes will grow to a lesser degree than normal.

Super volcanoes (or a contained nuclear war) don't devestate the entire globe, just large portion of it.

It would also cause huge tsunami and many ecological problems. In general, this is part of nature, but its the not-so-fun part.

On the other hand, a report from the U.S. Geological Survey, classified the Yellowstone Caldera as a high treat for volcanic eruption.

Kilauea in Hawaii received the highest overall threat score followed by Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainer in Washington, Mount Hood in Oregon and Mount Shasta in California.

Last 90 days of seismicity at Yellowstone.

Kilauea has been erupting since 1983. Mount St. Helens, which erupted catastrophically in 1980, began venting again in 2004.

This report was one of the main causes for better monitoring of the 55 volcanoes in the very high and high threat categories to track seismic activity, ground bulging, gas emissions and hydrologic changes.
