news.bbc.co.uk...

Israeli scientists have used radiometric dating to show when a tunnel in Jerusalem, described in the Bible, was excavated.
It is believed to be the first time a structure described in the Bible has been accurately dated, and scholars say it will be useful in refining the history of Jerusalem.

I find it weird when they talk about these actual things from the bible, as I've always considered it almost fiction, so when they actually say these were in the bible it blurs the line between myth and reality.

Good mythology/fiction bases its story upon real life locations to give the reader some idea of what was happening. Greek mythology is full of places that are verified locations, but like The Bible, is simply a story book.

Apart from never mentioning dinosaurs. And isn't it funny how when science disproves a biblical "fact" or a "miracle", it's a matter of faith and science is the devil's work, but when it backs something up, it's okay!!! Funny that isn't it?

Something DID happen back then and made people write The Bible. If you choose to be an atheist, that means that you dont believe in God, and that Jesus was his Son, but you can still believe and find evidence that he existed and those events, both old and new testament, really occured.

Interesting read, John. Good find.

Most Bible stories have their basis in fact. Modern scholars can debate where, when and how, but the essential elements are true.

Yep...likewise, since they found the city of Troy, looks like we should start building temples to Aphrodite, Artemis, and Athena, for surely if Troy exists, then these goddesses, also spoken of in Homer's texts, must exist as well, no???
