Argentina inherited of Spain its rights mainly the territory patrio, of which also the Malvinas Islands comprised, the 25 of May of 1810. In 1825, Argentina signed a treaty of Peace and Friendship with England. Nevertheless, the 3 of January of 1833, the English invaded the islands and took prisoners to the Argentine authorities, initiating the occupation that lasted 149 years uninterrupted, during which Argentina tried by all the possible diplomatic routes the return of the usurped territory, until the 2 of April of 1982.

Tough. There English islands, the people there want to be English, during the Falklands war they flouted all the 'Argentinian' rules force on them, for instance being made to drive on the right.

Argentina has as much right to the Falklands as they do Brazil, or Gibraltar. Non whatsoever in other words.

When the nation went down the tubes it was decided that a quick war would takes peoples minds off it. The war was lost.

Get over it. Brittania ruled the waves one last time and kicked the Argentinian military in the arse. To recover British land, a superb moment in our history.

If you insist, but i would have to say they would prolly migrate to england before ever submitting to the Argentinian government...

But you are a troll so you wont be worth arguing with.... when however you have actually spoken with a kelper, then you will see they are UK forever

and as i said you boys can try again... we'll just hit back harder this time

The Falkland Islands are and will always be British territory.

Case closed.

Why are we discussing this?

en.wikipedia.org...

The Falkland Islands are an archipelago in the South Atlantic continental shelf consisting of two main islands, East Falkland and West Falkland, and a number of smaller islands. They are a largely self-governing overseas territory of the United Kingdom. Port Stanley, also known as Stanley, is the capital and largest city, on East Falkland. In Argentina, the islands are known by their Spanish name, Islas Malvinas and their capital by the name Puerto Argentino..

The sovereignty of the Falkland Islands has been disputed since their discovery, with France, Spain, Argentina and the United Kingdom all claiming possession after establishing settlements on the islands. Argentina is the only country to still maintain a claim over the islands, and other territories in the South Atlantic currently under British dominion. The sovereignty dispute was the source of the 1982 Falklands War when the islands were invaded by Argentina, only to be retaken by the British after a short land war. The sovereignty of the islands remains disputed, but the islanders themselves wish to remain British.

get over it, the Brits won and kicked Argentina's butt back to where they came from which is next door of course. but still the Brits won it fair and square.

With Argentina's record on human rights during the 1970's and early 80's, allowing the FALKLANDS (you get to name territory you defend) to fall back into Argentine hands would have been a true war crime. Argentina was a nasty unpleasant little military dictatorship.

Judging by the way that the Argentine soldiers behaved on the Islands during the occupation, it's not somewhere you would have put on your holiday short-list.

Once again (moderators permitting):

1. The Argies rigged a rocket launcher on a school play slide.
2. They looted houses
3. They used homeowners bathtubs as convenient latrines.
4. They moved their artillery pieces into the gaps between occupied houses.

If this is classed as "slamming" another nation, tough, I still have the unforgiveable habit of slamming the Germans for killing 6 million jews.

Some acts should never be forgotten, or forgiven.

This is from today's news though, sort of ironic:

That Britain didn't suceed invading Argentina in the 19th century.
We would be like an American Australia .
I am ashamed to be an Argie
This has not been a Republic for decades, just a sad, bloody and expensive joke of a country since Peron took power

It is becoming a huge coc aine producing country, USA is aware of it, no wonder they are setting military bases in Paraguay

Venezuela,Bolivia an Argentina , the South American Axis of Evil
