DUST down your overcoat and search out the gloves - chilly times are on the way.

Ireland, in common with most of northern Europe, is in for a cold, cold winter, according to far-reaching forecasts which show the temperature is set to plummet.

The evidence is drawn from the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), a concept associated with winter fluctuations in temperatures, rainfall and storminess in Europe.

The water current going from gulf of mexico to northern europe to heat the water up has stopped 75% or more. This is why they will freeze and more hot water and storms for the equator.
