"LONDON (Reuters) - A U.S. police chief with a reputation for busting crime through community policing has been appointed as the new head of the Police Standards Unit.

Paul Evans has been brought in from Boston, where he has overseen a drop in violent crime to its lowest level in 30 years. He specialises in working closely with local groups including non-profit organisations and the clergy."

Full Story

A Boston Police chief is coming to Brittain to try and cut our crime rates. If he thinks he can do it, more power to him. It doesn't look like our own bunch of police can handle it, so for once I'm gonna welcome this show of US support. Also, notice that it mentions he works closely with the clergy? I don't know how this is going to acheive much, most of our criminals have never even seen a church. I guess we'll have to wait and see.....
