Newschool gamers, geez.

The best system is the NES. Hands down.

The best new system is the PS2.

just to let you know the raptor is old school now.

if you want speed reliability and quiet the new samsung spin point beats everything in its league...

it even has fast response times than the raptor which is amazing considering the samsung is a sata 2 7800rpm drive comparedto the 10k raptor.

Chasing technology is like chasing the white rabbit. Good info Minority - ty.

Just FYI - I remember when dad brought home the first "Pong" video game. It wasnt even green resolution, it was grey.

The best system?

PC

Nothing is better, nothing will ever be better.

PC can do anything any console can do, and of course a billion things more.

BUT..

The distance between the two is shrinking every day. But guess what? PC's ARE NOT becoming more like consoles, consoles are becoming more like PC's. And thats no accident.

Very true......

Soon it will just be Sony and Microsoft competing to build PC towers.

There isn't any more room for growth under the 'console' title. Newer and better chip sets come out every year. All they need to construct is a self sustaining tower. No interchanging of better parts, instead they just release a more updated model every year.

Keeping the games playable on all newer systems, they will just play better, or more graphically intense. Hopefully these systems will give advanced display options, choosing between smooth game play or vibrant effects.

Going to have to go for the Xbox here, not fan-boy nonsense but some cool facts.

Xbox Live is the single greatest thing that has hapened in ages, it did open up an entire world of screaming American 12 year olds (no offence, I just cant stand the voice) that have to swear in ways I didnt think was possible, but I have met some quality guys and gals that like nothing better than to frag.

Plenty of original games, Halo, DOA, Doom.

The Xbox is the nirvana of gaming l33tness on so many levels its almost scary.
