It was actually platinum when I was younger. It's either dark brown, or almost black now depending.

Oh that's a wonderful idea!

We shall wear our trendy square-framed respectacles (shush, I've always called 'em that), carry copies of Bukowski or Ginsberg and wax poetic about the state of the world.

And we shall have high tea. With real clotted cream.

(I think the boys would be more like or
after such little sleep and nutrition, but that's just me...)

I only do it when I have to

Most of the time (like the months before I discovered ATS) I get about 6-8 hours a night, and I eat ok. Just wehen I've got school, MCSE, and work all at once, things get a little crazy. My brain probably would go to mush because of the discussion topics, those worthless things like fashion and style, which I'm totally lacking, and refuse to entertain the idea of changing.

Worthless indeed... I'm happy to discuss Bukowski, Derrida or the 'Girls' for that matter with equal zest - or almost equal.

btw - 'found' one of YOUR more exciting posts:

Corsair Value Select, lowest CAS latency, and cheapest RAM around, the problem now is the PC3200 is getting phased out by DDR2. The lowest DDR2 is now cheaper than the value stuff for DDR.

But if you're getting PC3200 get the "Value Select Dual Channel" Pack from corsair, like the 2 x 512MB, or the 2 x 1 GB. CAS is always 2.5

Hmmmmm.

Ex-freakin-squeeze me?!

Nic Cage - you need a smack upside the head.

Congratulations on giving your newborn a name guaranteed to get him beat up at school...

Then again, Nicolas Cage is a Coppola, and that family has contacts...p'raps no beating up will occur.

But dang, that's a godawful name to give your kid...

That's a random link.... did you copy and paste from the wrong box?

I know even worse, guy at work the (other tech) is named "Brian Fagin"

he named his kid, "Harrison". Which immediately makes me say , "oh so you WANT him to grow up hearing 'Hey there Hairy f*g?'"

Did that take you a long time to find nik?

I'm not denying how boring it must sound to a non-computer person, and I wouldn't discuss it over tea.

Which begs the question - what would you discuss over tea? I think we have lost Zaph. I hope he is snoozing somewhere.

Speaking of weird names. There is a professor at my Uni whose name is Dr. Harry Cocks - guess what his speciality is? Here is an excerpt from the webpage. I swear I didn't make this guy up.

I work on the history of Britain since 1750, especially the history of gender and sexuality. My book, Nameless Offences is an interdisciplinary study of male homosexuality in nineteenth century England, blending legal, political, and cultural histories. In particular, it examines how English society discussed an otherwise “nameless crime.” The book poses the question of how homosexuality, which was increasingly visible in nineteenth century society, came nevertheless to be seen as “the love that dare not speak its name.”

Considering I've never had "tea" I really don't know. But probably daily events in the life of the anti-mundane. Like the best recipe for napalm, then ramen.

The name HAS to be on purpose, there is NO WAY just no way, I'm going to believe someone's name is that AND hes a sex ed (ish) teacher.

Just when you thought it was safe to sit down to tea.

Actually you know what? I'd probably talk about driving, as its one of my favorite activities, that and my crazy weekends. I can usually get a good laugh out of true stories.

I have killed an amazing amount of threads lately. Not just killed, but locked and destroyed them !

Its getting to be a serious problem.

I have begun keeping a tally in my signature of threads I have murdered.

I do believe you are supposed to post some links to the threads you've killed for review by the TKA board...

Welcome!

Does anyone know where I left my snowshoes?

It's 32 here.

I'm bloody freezing!

(and yes, we have snow-showers forecast. Hrmph)

Hallooooo.

Back to the back hair/waxing thing (bear with me, catching up a bit)...

who saw 'Jackass, The Movie'?

The only time Steve-0 was agreeable was when he was getting waxed. All over.

The best part was that he somehow managed to look genuinely first-time-surprised every time she ripped a strip off him.

It just occurred to me. D'ya think he might be a masochist?

Tinkle, I like the third hair color, definitely.

It must be a libra thing--also am a brunette

(born bald, however, initially growing out blond hair which then turned brownish. What does that mean?) and I burgandy-ize often (otherwise I look like a skunk or the bride of Frankenstein... I have a grey streak about 2 o'clock for whatever reason.)

My mother was a hairdresser....But I'm adopted.

Queenie! Nice to see you again - and great to have another Libra brunette - anyone here a lefty by the way?

Speaking of weather - tinkle - do you think (tink?) it will get cold enough to get a nice little fireplace in our living area? If Zaph says it's against fire safety laws, we can put in a DVD of placid firelogs and get some eggnog. Are there such things as eggnog donuts?? If so, I've been out of the US too long.

Zaph - how is that calendar coming? We need a bigger budget. I've been forced to write on scraps of paper for the last week and leftover crayons as the funds have all gone on the Halloweenie party.

Oh, I had a request from someone via U2 to be THE 'official' Jester for TKA and another for official storyteller (volunteered himself to sit by the fireside and tell tall tales) which would more or less render the rest of us useless.

Queenie is our poet in resident, but do we need both a jester and a story teller? If so, shall we tell them a duel is in order? I put it forward to the committee for a vote.

(for warmth Tinkle)

Ooooooooh that's a FABULOUS idea!!

Because His Lordship has been rather quiet, I took it upon myself to increase my ...uh..."our"...decorating budget a little, and went looking for one of these, which should be delivered tomorrow...

Of course, I'll ensure those nasty palm-tree- pineapply-candle-stick-thingies are gone. They just look...tacky

There are also nice warm bankies available (made from wool, cotton or faux fur, depending on your preference).

And there's plenty of this:

Did anyone find my snow-shoes?

Anyone?

And would anyone care to join me in the darn chatroom? C'mon already...

(um give me a minute I need to resize these pics...and I AM A LEFTY!)

Edited pics so they're not completely godawfully heyoooge. Like they wuz.

Tinkle

My heart warms at the sight of the cute fireplace and the mug of Green and Black's (which I love btw). To repay you for your thoughtfulness I've procured these for you:

And this for me (in pink) Queenie (in yellow) and you Tink in blue:

So the 'boys' don't feel left out, I found this:
