The UK energy conservation programs are hotting up. It looks like in the future if you don't save energy, you get a whopping fine. Maybe they'll
start locking up energy hogs also, if they fail to comply?

'Energy wardens' will police homes and offices to ensure that they do not waste gas and electricity under a radical plan being considered by John
Prescott.
An extraordinary blueprint being studied by the Deputy Prime Minister suggests conserving energy by monitoring the habits of home owners in the same
way that air raid wardens made people turn off their lights during the Blitz.
The latest scheme reflects a growing belief that energy targets can be met only by punitive measures. Earlier this year householders were warned that
they faced a £1,000 fine for failing to recycle rubbish.

The "end of oil age" looms closer, but there's still a few big oil cheerleaders in the states that keep saying, "the skies the limit, we have
crude coming out of our ears! Keep buying and don't sell that SUV!" They will probably be the same ones who get these energy fines, don't recycle,
and continue to drive their petrol guzzling vehicles when prices hit £2/liter.
