Communism doesn't work because people are inherently selfish.
China used to be stay somewhat true to communism in some aspects...ironically, it was the time when women and men were most equal, since everybody
received equal pay for equal jobs. But now China is only Communist by name, not by practice.
Wow, can't believe this thread lead to a second page... it seemed so dead.
Anyways I don't totally believe in the inherently selfish part. Let's not forget that communism wasn't ever supposed to happen in countries like
Russia or China which were'nt even industrialized. Communism was to take place after capitalism, as capitalism was seen as a necessary step. To a
certain extent I believe that capitalism is a necessary step as people see what the selfish ways of the capitalist system can do to people, the world,
and enviroment.
In my opinion the communism seen in China, North Korea, Cuba etc. is not real communism at all, more like a form of fascism.
Real communism is great on paper but I don't think it could ever work out in reality, as long as we're humans, it's utopian to say the least ...
I am also a bit uncertain about democracy, especially American democracy ...
