Peak Oil Looting

Only a couple of days after Katrina and looting is all over.

How do we prevent similar and worse happenings as crude starts descending from the peak?

1) If you have any supplies stored up (food, fuel, water, etc.), don't let other people learn of it. Keep a low profile.

You won't be able to prevent it at all. I have started soliciting responses in some other boards of how high gas prices would go before people would start to steal gas. I will let you know as I get feedback of what people say, if they are honest. Actually, I subscribe that civil uprest is somewhat crucial for a drastic change. I am not sure how to explain it, but it is inevitable. I think what you are saying is how do you protect yourself - perhaps. If people simply say and do nothing in revolt when things go south, then I guess we are truly subservient beings to our masters. I am not necessarily talking of looters who go and steal bling bling and TV's. They are ignorant. I am talking of looters of necessity who will go out and steal from desperation.
