South Africa Has a big problem with rape and the transmission of Aids. Well how about stop that with the Anti-Rape Condom.

KLEINMOND, South Africa (Reuters) - A South African inventor unveiled a new anti-rape female condom on Wednesday that hooks onto an attacker's penis and aims to cut one of the highest rates of sexual assault in the world.

"If a victim is wearing such a device it may enrage the attacker further and possibly result in more harm being caused," said Sam Waterhouse, advocacy co-ordinator for Rape Crisis.

I don't think theres much chance of that, the attacker would be way to concerned with his injury lol.

I bet this will probabley go on sale in other places other than Africa.

Not to mention, that rapist feels that happening to his member, what do you think that is going to do to his already heightened sense of violence? I really don't think he's going to apologize to her. This may be, instead of protection, a spur to an even more violent crime towards the victim.

In no way am I defending a rapist...they should be shot in my opinion. It is a good question on how the girl uses this thing. Does she walk around all day with it in? Also, say she is at a bar meets a nice guy and they go back to her place or his. Things are going well and they want to be intimate. Well what if the girl forgets about the venus fly trap she is wearing and BAAAAMMMM. Her could have been boyfriend is now half the man he used to be and on the way out the door.

Exactly, first thing I thought about. She won't get AIDS from being raped, but he'll beat her to death and back again. Assuming it doesn't hurt too much.

yes i agree, i think that he would kill her cause even if it has to be surgically removed so its known to the hospital police etc they still need a witness

in this violent mood he would more than likly being enraged further.

In America, less than 5% percent of rapes are comitted by women against men. I have a feeling that, in Africa, it's even less, and the men are more than capable of defending themselves.

The whole issue of how on earth the poor woman would be able to convince a rapist to WEAR a condom whilst attacking her...?

I haven't actually read up on this as of yet but doesn't this just seem like the stupidest thing you've ever heard of!
