What Are The Exact Amount of Points Per Post and How I can't Afford to Keep Changing My Color

Well ever since the new points system was developed and I spent all my points to vote on it. I expected in each different topic forum you'd get more than 1 point. If you only get 1 point per post then it takes 250 posts to get enough points to chaneg your backround color. And since I spent almost all my points changing my backround color I haven't been able to keep making enough points to change it a lot.



Is there any hope of seeing a drop in cost of different Improvements?

I ask this because it will take forever for new members to be able to afford anything. The lowest costing thing is low bandwidth and it will take 50 posts to make that many points. So please SO lower the costs of different improvements in the store if you can!

It doesn't really bother me much, but then again I have enough points to last me a long time. I think this would just encourage the new members to make Great posts instead of good ones. The applause and replies to their threads will get them points fairly quickly. They can also join in on research projects or submit stories to ATSNN. I only see very few members actually doing the things mentioned though... You could always have it where every new member starts off with like 250 in both the PTS, BTS, and ATS counters, so then they can build on that and purchase what they like. But anyway... the whole 1 point per post doesn't bother me much.

I used to have just as many poitns as you. Till I donated them for the better of ATs/BTs/PTs >.

I didn't have this many till I won the T contest... but i porbably would have donated a lot to the PTS/ATS/BTS thing too. But I don't spend a lot of points... only every now and then for the RATS and for Upload Space for if I'm to lazy to use Photobucket or something.

I understand the concern, but let's not forget that ATS is a managed economy presided over by our Dear Leader.

While I am only giving an opinion, I suspect that the emphasis is going to shift away from a straight points-for-posts system and toward a reward-for-good-contributions system.

At least, that's what I would like to see because all points-for-posts does is encourage members to post one-liners and garbage to pharm points.

Why not reward content that doesn't suck instead?

I'm for that, but it will take some time to set up.

Edit Hint: There are already some relatively easy ways to earn mondo points if you want to. ATSNN comes to mind, and there are others. Podcasts will pay well, also.

And don't forget applause. 250 points a pop (there's the cost of a background change right there). Any old J. Random Post may well be worth a point, but a good post is worth 250 points.

Hmm, I may just loosen up my applause policy. Well, just a little. The post still has to impress the hell out of me.

That's what you're doing everytime you respond to one of their threads. Or vote them WATS. No, it doesn't come from your total, but it does come from somewhere. The metaphysics involved are very complicated. Angels getting their wings and all that.
