Very good reading.

The illusion many christians have that thier religion is the reason for all these advancements can be shot down easily.

Society didnt start to advance, and ideals of civilization didnt grow to what they are now until people activly moved away from christianity. Most of the scoence we enjoy today is because several scientists of years past risked heresy accusations and defied the church, and broke its stranglehold on govornment and society.

And only by keeping religion down in the realms of the personal choice and not in the govornment sphere can we hope to continue to advance.

indeed... its just a shame some of them think... you cant have exacally the same relationship with god... without being a christian...

I just got the part about the christian constitution set up on an island.

"First they must seek the kingdom of Heaven, AND LOVE NOT THE WORLD OR THE THINGS OF THE WORLD"

"Christians in this island must take no thought for the morrow."

"Secondly, they must take no thought for their bodies nor even their lives"

Where the hell? This destroyed all credibility that i was going to give to the author.

Hyperspace, not sure I understand what is it exactly that you are saying??

Christians- I turn the TV stations and they are all cheering Jesus. That is fine. However, they keep insisting that to show your love and devotion to the father that everyone must go thru Jesus. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Oh yes, Jesus's last name was not Christ.

It is a pattern of Religion. First there is a true revelation of God, accepted by few, usualy poor. Then is spreads and it becomes institutionalised, and it becomes a tool of the ruling elite, a tool to control the masses. Due to this process the religion loses its very fundation, individuality. In religion, it is about saving YOUR OWN soul, by folowing GOD'S comands. It is not about organizing into churches, fighting crusades or such.
When scientists separated from church denying God, what they were realy giving up was the mass religion, instiutions, twisted versions of true religion. Only it was very hard to distinguish between faith in God, and faith in twisted version of religion.
This can be observed in both judeo-christianity and Islam.
When you read the Holy Qur'an one thing becomes clear: you can spend your whole life praying alone in your room to God without EVER going to mosque and your soul will be saved. Not a single person on this planet has to know that you are Muslim. But if you look at human interpretations and organized institutions of Islam, it is clear that the same thing that has happened in Christianity has also happened in Islam: your soul is saved if you scream to the whole world that your religion is the only true religion (regardless of the fact that Qur'an says otherwise).

The separation was a necessary process because what Christianity has become didnt allow any free thoughts or new ideas.
