A "Member" now!

Well, I just wanted to post to say I'm now a "Member." It feels pretty cool!

And running for the hills.. How does that feel?

Nice one.......sadly, I got over 500 posts but my profile says I'm still just a member.

Then again, that IS all I am....

Well for some strange reason it was higher than "Running" before the scale changed. Seriously. Why is it back down to almost nothing?

Seriously, only thing that matters anymore is the number of post.. as the points can be spent at store and the "awareness" is generated on the basis of what you are reading/posting here.. the forums..

Not quite.

Somebody will come along with a post reminding members that they should always post something of quality, that conveys a specific message which leaves lasting impact on its readers.

Yes, I wasn't implying that was the intent or the current situation. I was just pointing out what I see as a potential side effect.

I moderate on a forum where we used to give points per post. The top 10 posters were plastrered all over the main page. It got so bad with people making stupid posts over and over again that we removed the point system.

I think the people here are a little more mature (although the quality of my posts has shot through the floor)

My apologies to you, and Mr Mulder, for contributing in any way to that trend.

Posts are becoming more and less interesting.

There are focused members, who bring a specific interest to ATS (in a specific topic or conspiracy subject matter) who employ ATS as part of a strategy to inform and be informed, to enhance the general knowledge base.

There are social members with very good skills and a broad range of interests, who post quality messages in a variety of forums, perhaps not to the depth of quality of the diligent researchers, but still with a good contribution. And they enjoy ATS greatly.

There are miscreants for whom ATS is their only attachment to other sentient creatures, who pick up on tidbits of information here and there and post mostly about the Board itself, in order to verify some sense of belonging that they need.

And there are the rabid, unpredictable maniacs and trolls, the kind about which stumpy and skadi were recently debating.

If I had an ongoing interest and felt I had something of value to offer on flying weapons of destruction, I would certainly see you there.

I wonder if you or MrMulder can identify the number of Allied sites in the world where WWII fighter craft have been secreted in underground bunkers and tunnel systems. And why.
