I've been thinking... of what humanity in general has done over the span of their 10000 years of existance and well none of them are pretty, so why don't you people list out the greatest achivement in humanity's history.

I'd have to go with the Apollo moon landings. They were our first baby steps out of the Garden of Eden. Unless we have populations on other worlds, we're doomed in the long run.

Followed closely by figuring out that germs cause diseases. That has possibly improved the lives of more people than anything else we have done in our history. Sanitation is way cool.

The Internet- The greatest things mankind has done, has all been due to communication, and cooperation. Nothing has done more, in the history of mankind, to unite the planet, than the internet...so it is truly, our greatest creation to date.

As much as it is our first instinct to disagree with the Atomic Bomb as an achievement...we should keep in mind that it is the existence of MAD (mutually assured destruction), that has been responsible for our relative peace for over 50 years.....

And who the # said cars?! Yeah, great invention, looks what it's doing to our planet.

IMO, it had to be those who push their bodies to extrem limits and do all that crazy stuff. Learning to really control your self. That's a tough achievement.
