Last night i was going to bed and before i go to bed i usually like to listen to my cd player. While i was laying in bed i noticed that i had left the light on. So i got up to turn it off but forgot that i still had my headphones on. I turned around and noticed that my headphones had disconnected from the cd player. The only weird thing about this is that the music didnt stop playing. I held up the cord to make sure that it was disconnected and sure enough i held a single cord in my hand. I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar to this or knows anything about it.

So, you disconnected the headphones, and the music was still playing in them?

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused.

Are you trying to say that the music continued to play through the headphones? Because otherwise its normal for the CD player to keep going

Umm... Yeah right.

Anyway, could you specify when the music came to a complete stop.
Was it when

"I turned around and noticed that my headphones had disconnected from the cd player. The only weird thing about this is that the music didnt stop playing."

Or

"I held up the cord to make sure that it was disconnected and sure enough i held a single cord in my hand."

I would think that in a sleepy state, and having listened to the cd player quite a few times as you are falling asleep, your mind simply played what it expected to hear, or, your memory just includes the songs because it was what you expected to hear.

It's basically that you've listened to the cd so many times, that you know exactly what will play next.

who makes wireless headphones?
Wouldn't they be expensive, with blue tooth or such tech?

most wireless headphones are just a radio base that connects to the player and then transmits to the headphones. truly wireless with a huge range are not available, as far as I know.

it is physically impossible for the signal from the player to have jumped through the air and remained connected to the headphones.

perhaps there is an external speaker in this player ?

maybe it was a dream ?

I just got off work, so I'm too lazy to retype my similar experience, so I'll just link to it.

If the music kept going through the headphones-that would be strange, if it was just the cd kept playing-that is normal.

lol ok ill jump in here, This has also happened to me.

I was laying in bed one night before a collage exam and i had a tape in the player of my revision notes, hoping to cram as much learning in as i could before the morning of my exam.

Now here is the wierd bit, I was listing to my stuff and was getting board and holding the cable almost twisting it, I ran my fingers to the end and then noticed that i had the plug in bit in my hand?

Now i could still here the tape! I jumped up and looked still with my ear phones on? and Yup it was not in the player, i pulled the things of my ears and turned the mains plug out, stood there for a few mins trying to work out how the heck it happened.

Thats about it, never happened again, though i did try lol..

Very strange though never sure if this was some wierd eletrical thing or something paranoral.

Interesting to find out though,

but as some have said, posssible in dream state who knows?

This sorta thing happened to me and my friend but on a much larger scale. We were palying this video game back in the 5th grade, StarCraft. Well since he lives on teh otherside of town we play over the internet, well the wierd thing was his brother who hates it when he doesn't get to do stuff with him unplugged his internet cord to go play his own game. (At the time they only had 1 line in their room) Weird part was that we were still playing even though his cord was out. we could still type to each other and eveything, so it wasn;t like the information he had tried to cram in before the cord came out was being sent, it was a good 5 minutes at least before the game disconnected him. Sorry if this post was ill written I just got my wisdom teeth pull and I am put on pain killers.

It’s happened to me to.
My headphone lead has popped out many times’ Groovy Baby.
But I’ve had someone talk over the music whilst still playing’ weird or what.
The voice in the background said.
WE ARE THE BORG.
WE ARE HERE TO ASSIMILATE YOU.
FIGHTING IS FUTILE.
PREPARE TO GET OUT OF BED AND BE ASSIMULATED.

At that moment I fall out of bed and wake up all dazed.

Excellent I lived to fight another day.
