When the original news story broke on the stranded Russian submarine, FOX News stated that the White House said the sub was caught up in a cable
attached to a secret listening device owned by the US Government. This sounds much like the devices used to listen for violations of the Nuclear
Non-Proliferation Treaty (one of these devices recorded the earthquake that destroyed Indonesia from 1,700 miles away at Diego Garcia) I see now that
the original story has been changed to "OLD FISHING NETS" that snagged the sub. Is this another NEWSWEEK debacle, an honest mistake or a
Roswell-like case where someone said too much to the wrong person? I think it's the latter and I think the US and British military helped out in the
rescue because of a little bit of a guilt trip from the Russians. I think their "fishing nets" were in the wrong place and listening for something
they weren't supposed to be listening for. Maybe the Russian sub was trying to capture those "old fishing nets". We will probably never
know.............:shk:
