Those carriers listed on that site are US Navy Aircraft Carriers. Either Nuclear or Conventional boiler fired ships.
Most of the worlds Aircraft carriers are not of this type. Some use boilers some uses Gas Turbines for propulsion.
Also certain Aircraft require different maintnance facilities below decks and on the flight deck also. This meaning the ships will be decked out accordingly.
Mission requirements differ also as different Navys operate in different manners according to the type of aircraft and their nations military philosophys/customs. This is why often different nations train together so that in real cooperative situations they dont get thier signals crossed up and have accidents.
Seems to me that many nations are opting for the ski jump ramp to get thier planes airborne or some combination of both.
Costs are a huge factor for many nations clearly dictating the size and complexity of thier carriers.
Much of this variation can be looked up on different web sites. It is a long and intresting study.

Thanks,

Seekerof - your getting rather sarcastic of late

To the thread starter : It depends on which country to how the countries carriers are designed ; an example is the British , they have smaller carriers , but have ski jumps (not steam catapults)

so could well be described as `escort carriers` in size , rather than the huge `fleet carriers` of the USN.

They may be equal in quantity but not in quality. I do not mean this to be insulting. The only country who has been operating carriers as long as the US is the UK and they switched to the smaller ski-ramp ships several years ago. Many of the systems used on the US carriers were originally developed by the UK. The steam catapult and the optical landing system to name a few.
