Terrorisms hidden agenda

When looking at a map of the world today each country's territorty is defined by it's borders with neigbouring country's.
Through out the ages country's and their borders have changed through the emergance of numerous Empires and hostile regimes.
(e.g WW1 & WW2)

My Questions for discussion are.

1. Can terrorism be compared with these hostile regimes?

2. Will terrorism have an influence or has it already influenced the changing of territorys in the world?
"What perhaps will the world look like"
